To
directly support the Holy Father’s missionary
activity through the Mission
Sunday collection
for The Society for the Propagation
of the Faith and to provide other means for the
faithful to support the missions.
To
provide financial aid for the work of missionary priests, sisters
and lay missioners as well as dioceses in mission lands through the
Missionary Cooperative Plan (MCP).
To
raise awareness among the Catholic people and
clergy of our diocese about the worldwide mission activities
of the Church through presentations to parishes and other groups
of issues of missionary importance. To
organize trips to overseas missions
To
encourage and support vocations to the priesthood in mission
lands through the Society of St.
Peter and promote The
Pontifical Missionary Union which fosters interest
in mission among priests, religious and other animators in the
Catholic Church.
